Camel Toe free running tights

All right ladies, let’s do this. Let’s crack this “rubbing seam” issue and put our heads together and figure out where we can get some running (or exercise in general) tights that don’t rub our bits raw. So guys – if you have landed on this page googling “camel toe” hoping to get some images to get you hot under the collar you can move on.

When I wrote the original post, I kind of thought it was just me suffering with the camel toe / painful seam issue. But boy, was I wrong! That post is probably my most commented on. Women all over the world are desperately trying to find solutions to get around this issue and here are the various recommendations of “camel toe free” tights from those comments lifted as written from the Camel Toe Woes post:

  • “Nike Legend 2.0 has a triangle gusset to avoid the camel toe”

Ok, I had a look at these on Nike website and they do seem to have a seam right where we don’t want it but the site says the seam is flat. In my experience it doesn’t much matter how flat the seam is as far as camel toe goes but it obviously does help to avoid chafing. I can’t see evidence of the gusset but Nike does usually have one. Just in the wrong place.

Nike Legend 2.0

Ladies!! Yes, yes, yes and yes! These shorts do NOT have a seam running down the front of them. We have ourselves a unicorn here! Only 2 (fundamental problems); these don’t seem to be available in the UK and not in capris/tights… Boo.

Under Armour UA Authentic 7″ Compression shorts – front seam free but not available in the UK
  • “CW-X compression shorts, Capri, and long winter tights. They have a gusset and a nifty diamond shaped piece of fabric sew in the delicate area.”

I have never heard of this brand before and it appears that is because they are US based and not retailed in the UK as far as I can see. Their stuff looks great but from the website it is hard to see exactly where the gusset on these tights and shorts is. All I see is seams, seams, seams…

A selection of CW-X Tights; from what I can see all have seams and the brand doesn’t seem to have UK presence
  • “Lululemon has fantastic running tights that do NOT have that front seam” (and she goes on to say that she is in love – this is VERY promising!)

I went to the Lululemon (US) website and their “Like Nothing 7/8 Tight” is indeed free of the bits-rubbing front seam! They actually say “No Front Seam, Keeps camel toe in check”! Finally they are beginning to cotton on the fact that THIS is actually something they can use to sell their tights!

But Lululemon doesn’t stop there! They are onto a good thing and they know it so I moved on to the UK site and found more reasons to cheer – “All The Right Places Pant II” (who names these things??) are also free of the front seam and come in 5 different colours. Even at £118 it would be worth it to not have your ladybits destroyed by every run.

  • Recommendation via Twitter from @helensbooks for Asics tights

Why didn’t I even think about checking Asics?… For some reason I tend to always veer away from it but that means I have missed out on their seamless tights.

Asics “Seamless Tights”, and the price is right!

Here we have it – there are some seam free options out there but you really do have to look for them as most brands only do one or two seamless tights with most of the selection still offering mid-bit seams. And of course the perfect running shorts/tights still should have all the right pockets etc so it can take a bit of doing to find the right pair that works for you. Wake up already, sports wear designers! This is what we want – camel toe free, non-rubbing clothing that looks good and is functional. I applaud Lululemon for leading the way, more of the same please!

Keep the recommendations coming, ladies, and Save Our Bits!

  1. Chafing woes! I’m seriously sensitive to inseams and I’m still in search of the perfect pant and tights combo for running. You’d think seamless technology would have caught on by now. I’m going to try out the Odlo Trevo tights next, their underwear is pretty good. If this fails I’m going to petition ever running brand on earth to make seam free crotches and actually get a woman to wear them to check the seams don’t ride up!

  2. Brooks Running’s Streaker Capris don’t have the seam on the front. I’ve just ordered two pairs but I haven’t received them yet. I found this blog while I was searching (for hours) for running capris without the camel-toe-seam. My old Adidas didn’t have the seam but everything else I’ve bought since does.
